With the rapid expansion of the medical facilities and services in the United States of America, the challenges are outpacing their growth. Emergency rooms are crowded and sometimes people wait for hours to be treated by a medical professional. Urgent care centers are springing up in many cities to alleviate the problem but to no avail. Some parts of the nation are miles away from medical services. The list of problems regarding the availability of physicians and facilities is growing exponentially.
Meanwhile, television programming is offering a plethora of advertising to entice viewers to “ask the doctor” to prescribe an advertised drug. The pharmaceutical industry is huge, wealthy, and wielding great influence in the medical training of physicians.
The insurance industry is complicated. Who can unravel the information regarding Medicare, Medicaid, Obamacare, and other forms of health insurance? The industry, like pharmaceuticals and healthcare, is very wealthy.
